Thank you for helping to revitalise the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide.
Five years ago, the Board of the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium embarked on an ambitious fundraising campaign for a $10 million capital works program – the most significant upgrade of the Gardens in decades.
The Gardens 150 Foundation was established to raise 50% of these funds to match the State Government’s commitment. With your support this ambitious target was achieved in just 18 months and today continues to grow.
Led by the G150 Appeal Committee (APC), the commitment of the Garden’s supporters including the Board, management, Gardens’ staff, the Friends of the Botanic Gardens, volunteers, government, business and the public has now resulted in a revitalised Garden for all South Australians and visitors to enjoy for many more decades.
The completion of the exciting G150 capital projects including the Schomburgk Pavilion, SA Water Mediterranean Garden, the Amazon Waterlily Pavilion, the Santos Museum of Economic Botany, including the significant progress made on the Western Entrance, reflect the financial injection of the G150 Appeal support. Each and every one of these iconic projects have achieved results far exceeding expectations and have become integral to the fabric of the Gardens. Truly a vision comes to life.
The G150 Foundation has now completed its transformation to become the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Foundation, a permanent support for the Gardens. However, before we look towards the next year and a new and exciting campaign, the Foundation Committee would like to present to you our Achievements and Recognition Statement. This statement is to honour our supporter’s outstanding contribution to a beloved South Australian icon and to recognise that this transformation was made possible with your support.
As the Foundation continues to achieve our mission in supporting the beautiful Botanic Gardens of Adelaide, we thank you again for your contribution and generosity. We wish you and your family a wonderful festive season and hope to see you in the Gardens soon.
