Working with Media for a Greener Future

In helping to develop the Gardens for the benefit of the community, the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Foundation works closely with South Australian media.

As a not-for-profit organisation with no advertising budget, the Foundation recognises the crucial importance of media support through community service announcements and more general news coverage.  The Gardens is South Australia's most popular cultural attraction, drawing 1.8 million visitors annually.

Richard Aitken, in "Seeds of Change", says botanic gardens have the intellectual and genetic capital to "profoundly influence attitudes and knowledge in relation to climate change, salinity, water conservation and reuse.... In this context, botanic gardens have the ability to change the world and the way we think about it."
