A message from Ruth Hemmerling
Chair, Adelaide Botanic Gardens Foundation
Welcome to a new and busy year for the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Foundation.
I hope you, like thousands of others, have visited the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide this summer to experience one of the many cultural events or Moonlight Cinema movies, enjoyed the shady walks, or for our keen gardeners, visited the new native garden for some contemporary ideas for your own garden.
As you may be aware the Foundation is very busy organising our Home Grown Gala Dinner on the opening night of Tasting Australia 2010, Thursday 29th April. All proceeds from this new event will support the planned Kitchen Garden. I recommend you reserve your place at the dinner using the form enclosed to have a terrific evening out whilst supporting this wonderful project – tables are limited.
The Foundation Committee has a new capital campaign focus this year now that the majority of projects from the G150 Campaign are complete and transforming the Gardens landscape. These new projects including; the Kitchen Garden, the Garden of Health and our Endowment Fund, will also significantly enhance our Botanic Gardens of Adelaide for generations.
Please enjoy our Autumn/Winter Newsletter enclosed. The Foundation has so much happening this year. I also recommend you visit our new website at www.abgf.org to keep up to date on events, projects and news. Thank you again for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Ruth Hemmerling
