Daniel Lutz - Youth Ambassador

Inspired by his Oma and Opa as a young child and more recently taking Jamie Oliver as a role model, Daniel Lutz represents a new generation of budding gardeners, passionately engaged with food production from paddock to plate.

A member of two Adelaide orchid clubs, Daniel has won many prizes at the Royal Adelaide Show and is working to create a new colour combination for international distribution.

An enthusiastic supporter of a seed savers club and an active member of the school’s environment and plant clubs, Daniel maintains a large pesticide free vegetable garden at home. This provides the raw materials for a range of products he sells at the Urrbrae High School’s monthly barn market.

Daniel was a Year 9 winner of the Urrbrae High School Ruth Martin medal for practical horticulture, normally reserved for Year 12 students.

For Daniel “cooking and gardening is relaxing, rewarding and very therapeutic” and he hopes to combine the two in a successful career.

Preserving the past, planting the future.
