Deputy Chair, Dr. Chris Laurie

In parallel with his medical career, Dr. Chris Laurie chose an entrepreneurial path founding a series of horticultural and floricultural enterprises as well as Hillstowe Vineyards in South Australia in 1979 and Hoddles Creek Vineyards in the Yarra Valley in 1986.

Following the sale of his horticultural and winery interests, Dr. Laurie formed Micromet Pty Ltd, an IT irrigation management technology.

He is a Founding Trustee of the Australian Institute of Horticulture and former Chairman of Carrick Hill Trust (1985-1991).

He was a member of the Board of Botanic Gardens of Adelaide (1982-1994), Chairman (1985-1994).

He is currently an Advisory Principal of Gramercy Venture Advisers, a boutique merchant bank focusing on transactions between the USA, Asia and Australia.

He is also a director of Joint Research Pty Ltd, an Australian producer of joint prostheses.
